Jessieville School District created 592-holiday cards for active-duty military service members.
This act of kindness was inspired by the “Holiday Cards 4 Our Military” Challenge, promoted by the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. Each card opens with “Dear Warrior,” and contains a personal note about the holidays.
“Considering that we have 804 students K-12, it was pretty impressive that our kids produced nearly 600 personalized cards,” said Ashley Layfield, PR Coordinate for Jessieville School District.
“The project was intended to show gratitude toward military members, but our students benefited as well by developing a deeper sense of both empathy and patriotism. It was a win-win.”
The school hopes that the recipients of these cards will know how much they are loved and appreciated for their courage and sacrifice
